The NASP
Quarterly: Summer '06 Edition
From the Editor
Craziness.
That's the only word I can use to describe the state of staredown lately. I mean seriously just when you thing it can't get any weirder it certainly does.
I mean first and foremost, what has happened to Tony Patterson. Are we seeing the decline of a legend? Of a self-proclaimed hero? I guess you could look at the 2005 Championship as a fluke, but the first round loss in Austin? That's his home turf, nobody used to beat Tony at home.
Tony, come back buddy, we miss you.
Not to turn our little newsletter into a gossip column, but rumor has it Ms. Erika Watson has lately been seen holding hands with none other than Greg “Tomato Juice” Doyle.
Acting head of corporate sponsorship over here at the NASP, Donnie Anderson, has asked if anyone knows anyone who owns or works at a company that might be interested in sponsoring a staredown event to call him at 916-317-9365.
It's been an interesting season so far. No real clear cut favorites, but I guess that will just make for a more exciting National Championship.
Sincerely, Mark Chipwood Staredown Analyst/ NASP
