National Championship Remains in Dispute

FLAGSTAFF- The world of Pro Staredown is shocked after the controversial conclusion of the 2005 NASP National Championship. Commissioner Ernie Armstrong called an emergency press conference following the event.
"Mark my words, the NASP will conduct a full investigation into the unfortunate conclusion of the National Championship. The Rockhammer and Patterson camps can say what they will, but I remind fans that only the NASP can determine a victor," Armstrong said.
5-time Staredown Champion Tony Patterson, and up-and-comer Philip Rockhammer were in the midst of an epic Staredown battle in a hotel parking lot, when police officers arrived on the scene and promptly hauled the competitors off to jail.
"Look at the tape, Patterson had wasted all his moves in the first minute. I was 'peddling the crack' and he was about to blink when the cops arrived," said Rockhammer.
This latest dispute comes after last year's NASP Championship quarter-final match, where Patterson's defeat of Rockhammer generated protests from Rockhammer fans.
"That whiny little bastard better face the fact that he can't compete with a legend. Talk about a sore loser--does this guy ever stop bitching?" said Patterson.
Patterson and Rockhammer have submitted formal appeals to the NASP board and a final decision will be forthcoming.
"Patterson robbed me once before, and it's not gonna happen again," said Rockhammer.
"He can bite me," said Patterson.
